Booster Seats
Has your child outgrown their car seat? It may be time to transition into a booster seat. When switching to a booster, your child’s age, ability, height, and weight should be taken into consideration.
As parents and CPSTs, we will always recommend maxing out the limits of a five-point harnessed car seat before moving to the use of a booster seat.
Booster seats are meant for children who have outgrown their forward-facing child seats and who weigh at least 18 kg (40 lb). Furthermore, each province and territory may have its own age, height, and weight restrictions for booster use. Parents and caregivers may consult the Transport Canada website and Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada and verify your province or territory restrictions to find the most accurate and up-to-date information.
