This Privacy Policy describes how nurtured.ca (the “Site” or “we”) collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you visit or make a purchase from the Site.

Collecting Personal Information
When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and information necessary to process your purchases. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support (We genuinely enjoy being able to answer your questions about great items for you and your baby. You're welcome to stop in to the shop, call or email. The contact form on our site is cool too and keeps us rather organized).
In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information about an identifiable individual (including the information below) as “Personal Information”. See the list below for more information about what Personal Information we collect and why.

- Purpose of collection: to load the Site accurately for you, and to perform analytics on Site usage to optimize our Site.
- Source of collection: Collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify, and our gift registry provider, Gift Reggie
- Personal Information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, what sites or products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site.

- Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify
- Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number.

Sharing Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Behavioural Advertising
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:

- Fun Fact: Nurtured still prefers print advertising on billboards and such because there is little need to collect anything and this form of advertising can be kind of fun for kids learning how to read and identify letters when out for a weekend drive.

Using Personal Information
We use your personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your order, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.
Through our website you will be able to purchase products, services and gift cards. We ask for information such as your name, email address, billing and shipping address, telephone number and payment information in order to process your purchase, confirm your order and deliver or ship the items to you. If you elect to be added to the Nurtured email list we may use your contact information to communicate with you about products, services and promotions.
You have the opportunity to create a personal shopping account with Nurtured which will allow you to shop faster and easier. You will also have the opportunity to create a baby gift registry using a login and a password of your choice. You may access your account at any time to add, delete or change information.
In creating this account you authorize Nurtured to store your name and email address. Should you elect to do so, you may also include in your “My Account” your telephone number, and your shipping and billing address(es). Your due date is simply just plain fun to celebrate and be a part of your journey and timing a few products you may need. If you ever choose to include such information then you are also authorizing Nurtured to store this information until such time you desire to change it or choose to delete it. Our registries expire publicly one month after your event.
Each of these options is for your convenience only. Afterall, an average person has a hard time remembering other people's due dates.
Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information.
Automatic decision-making
Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:
- Temporary blacklist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This blacklist persists for a small number of hours.
- Temporary blacklist of credit cards associated with blacklisted IP addresses. This blacklist persists for a small number of days.
Personal Information
We do not and will not sell any of your personal data to any third party.
We do not sell or others provide personal information to other companies for the marketing of their own products or services.
Nurtured may regularly share data with service providers which may include your data with select companies such as payment providers, Shopify Payments or Moneris and professional services that help us run our business; such as marketing agencies or third party apps to help run our Gift Registry, Gift Reggie.
We would also share information with law enforcement.
Your rights
GDPR
If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you, to port it to a new service, and to ask that your Personal Information be corrected, updated, or erased. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us through the contact information above.
Your Personal Information will be initially processed in Ireland and then will be transferred outside of Europe for storage and further processing, including to Canada and the United States. Cookies
Cookies are necessary for the Functioning of the Store
In digital terms, cookies have nothing to do with a snack for children. These little data files collect information that’s downloaded to your computer or device when you visit Nurtured. We use a number of different cookies (but since you're asking, our favourites are ginger molasses and oatmeal chocolate chip).
We use cookies to optimize your experience on our Site and to provide our services.
Just as sharing a cookie is a great way to learn about a child’s day at school, digital cookies build memories on the Site like recalling that your computer or device has accessed our website. This helps Nurtured.ca remember whether you are logged in and what items you have in your cart. Cookies are essential for the effective operation of our website and to help you shop with us online. You're really reading this instead of putting the clothes in the dryer, aren't you? While you're here, we suggest line drying clothes [and cloth diapers] for longer lasting fabrics and good ol' benefits of sunshine and fresh air cleaning powers.
Anyway, like that scent of freshly baked cookies, cookies help connection. Connection means management of your customer settings, tracking preferences and making it through checkout with those items you have saved in your cart. Functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies are part of that list. This means you don’t have to waste your precious time while raising your kids by re-entering this information each time you return to Nurtured or browse from one page to another. Cookies also provide information on how people use the website, for instance whether it’s their first time visiting (Welcome!) or if they are a frequent visitor (It's so nice to see you again!).
P.S. You still have laundry in the washing machine. Your shopping cart will be saved.
Reporting and Analytics
The length of time that a cookie remains on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies last until you stop browsing and persistent cookies last until they expire or are deleted. Most of the cookies we use are persistent (Reminiscent of, "Mommy, Mommy....") and will expire between 30 minutes and two years from the date they are downloaded to your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. And, every so often, we reserve the right to add in more whitty cookie and parenting humour.
