Since 1922 the aroma of beeswax and two children playing in a beekeeping supply store began a creative endeavour during a not so creative time. First came modelling beeswax with excellent colour. It wasn't until the 1950s that Stockmar's colouring wax crayons were created with the specially textured and warm, well-coordinated colour tone. It's the beeswax crystalline waxes that act as a carrier for transparency and give the colours structure and gloss. The sturdy Stockmar shape make it easy for children to hold on to, especially suited to beginners!
The Rainbow Edition celebrates all that is held dear by Stockmar and adds the silver and gold block crayons in this set imprinted with 100 amongst the six rainbow hued colouring sticks.
The colours of the rainbow are not just important for a harmonious colour spectrum.
The interaction between rain and sunshine, a vital rhythm of nature, is also fundamental to Stockmar philosophy.
The colourful rainbow symbolises hope, tolerance and diversity worldwide - values with which STOCKMAR feels deeply connected. This set has been produced in a limited rainbow anniversary edition to commemorate Stockmar's centenary year.
The emphasis on each of the six colours in Stockmar's logo represents diversity, while the gold and silver reflect the celebratory character of the anniversary.
The six crayons and two blocks in this edition are made of beeswax supplied by beekeepers who keep their happy bees in species-appropriate conditions in northern Germany.
