Be Like a Tree
Product Description
Local Author and yoga teacher, Leanne Whiting, shares that a tree demonstrates practices of movement, awareness, and empathy with himself and the boy in this book.
Every winter while hiking the 3.2 km Rogart Trail at Sugar Moon Farm in Tatmagouche, Nova Scotia, the author noticed a special tree that stands uniquely in Tree Pose [Vrksasana], a common yoga pose used to foster both inner and outer strength and stability.
Her story reminds the reader the role of nature is important.
It is an opportunity to connect with ourselves, with others, and with all creatures, to feel connected to the beauty of the world we live in as a mirror to connect to ourselves and stand in our own beauty.
An excellent book to read together with your child, this story wlll encourage you to spend time in nature, practice yoga and use the skills of empathy to live peacefully and compassionately to yourself and others.
Be Like a Tree connects the qualities of the heart of humans and nature alike.
