How to Order from NurturedWe offer both online shopping and shopping in person at our retail store in Halifax’s North End (2571 Robie Street). Our website is inventory controlled and includes an automatic payment processor. The inventory shown on our website is also the inventory available in our retail store. We keep large quantities of stock on hand, however, occasionally items are back ordered or temporarily out of stock. If an online order is placed and an item is inadvertently shown in stock when it is actually temporarily out of stock, it will be backordered and will ship separately. You will not be billed additional shipping charges. We are happy to place custom orders with any of our suppliers. Custom orders that are not regular stock will require a 100% non-refundable deposit payable at the time of ordering. We reserve the right to make equivalent substitutions for temporarily out-of-stock or unavailable products as required on a case by case basis. The pricing available online is equivalent to that available in our retail store. In the event of a discrepancy - typographical or otherwise - the pricing in our retail store shall be taken as the correct pricing. We reserve the right to bill or refund any difference in pricing that may occur as a result of a typographical error. To place an order:1) Shop online 24 hours a day. Orders are generally packed and shipped within 12 business hours of placing your order. Online orders are the most efficient method of placing an order with us. 2) By telephone. If you do not shop online, or are buying a gift for someone locally, feel free to call our store (902) 405 4367 or toll free in Canada 1 866 788 2229. Orders may be held for pick up at our store during our business hours. All orders held for pick up must be pre-paid. Methods of PaymentOnline, we accept Visa and MasterCard processed through our secure, encrypted, third party processor powered by Moneris. At our retail store we accept cash, debit, Visa and MasterCard as well as gift cards. These items will have the provincial portion of the tax credited to the order. The provincial portion of the tax is equivalent to the following rebates by province: Nova Scotia 10% Ontario 8% British Columbia 7% Taxes do not apply to gift certificates or Rainy Day Box donations. Taxes are billed based on the destination location of the order, not the originating address. CurrencyAll prices are listed in Canadian dollars. If you are ordering internationally, your credit card company will automatically convert your purchase from Canadian dollars to your local currency. Please check with your bank for current exchange rates as they change daily. Also be aware that your credit card company may charge a transaction fee for purchases made in foreign currency. You should review your credit card agreement and make yourself aware of any additional charges you may incur. Shipping RatesCanadian Orders:Most packages are shipped using Canada Post Expedited Parcel service within Canada and include parcel tracking and $100 insurance. If extra insurance is requested, it will be billed in addition to shipping. We offer $9.95 flat rate shipping* on orders under $99 (before taxes) for most orders within Canada. Orders $99 and above (before taxes) qualify for free domestic shipping*. *Large, bulky items including high chairs, car seats, mattresses and oversized/heavy orders will be charged additional shipping on a case by case basis. We will typically indicate on an individual product description if freight charges apply. Any items larger than maximum dimensions that Canada Post will allow will require shipping via courier or freight truck. Exact shipping charges will apply on orders over 5 kg/10 lbs. Shipping to remote and Northern areas of Canada, including but not limited to communities with postal codes beginning with A0K, A0P, G0G, P0L, P0T, P0V, R0B, S0J, T0H, T0P, T7Z, V0J, V0N, V0P, V0R, V0T, V0V, XOA, X0B, X0C, X0E, Y0B, Nunavut, parts of Labrador, and Northwest Territories, may have additional shipping billed separately. When you receive your order from us, it will be in a previously-mailed box and may also contain recycled bubble wrap or other packing material. We encourage you to reuse the packaging as well wherever possible, and if not possible, please recycle! Gift PurchasesWe offer gift presentation boxes and gift cards for a nominal fee. If you would like your item gift boxed and wrapped, please leave a note in the comment field upon checkout. A gift note can be added at no charge, blank gift cards are available for $5.50 plus tax. What is your buying policy?Nurtured strives to provide safe, natural, and environmentally sustainable products for our families and yours. When selecting products to stock in our store, we first look locally, provincially, and nationally before going abroad. Preference is given to companies that use organically grown products (cotton, herbs, skin care ingredients) and to companies that use recycled material and/or packaging and/or are powered by renewable energy sources. We work with a number of very small businesses - in some cases only one person, to provide our customers with unique products not found everywhere else. We do not take items on consignment. No product containing PVC or melamine is sold in our store or on our website. Plastic products are kept to a minimum. In the event that plastic cannot be avoided, preference is given to polypropylene (PP #5), a very stable plastic not known to leach toxins or silicone, a plastic derived from silicon, a naturally occurring mineral (it is not hydrocarbon-based as other plastics are). Skin care products must not contain parabens or other known estrogen-mimicking chemicals, all skin care products should contain ingredients generally regarded as safe and all products will have been checked against the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep database for potential risks. All baby carrier and diaper manufacturers are required to carry liability insurance in an amount concurrent with the industry norm. Returns and ExchangesPlease note that we strive to provide you with on-going support to help you select the products most appropriate for your family. Please feel free to ask as many questions as needed before placing your order to help ensure you are totally happy with your purchase. Mail orders:We offer a 14 day period for refunds (minus a 20% re-stocking fee) on unused, unwashed merchandise in its original packaging from the day you receive your order as confirmed by Canada Post tracking. After 14 days and no later than 30 days after your purchase, we offer exchanges for in-store credit. After 30 days, all sales are final. Sale and clearance items are final sale. All online orders requiring a return or exchange require prior approval by Nurtured Products for Parenting Inc. We reserve the right to refuse delivery of any packages that do not have prior approval. We require the following information to process an exchange/return:
Return shipping to Nurtured Products for Parenting for all returns are non-refundable and are the responsibility of the customer with the exception of goods received by the customer not matching those ordered. In store purchases:We offer refunds on unused, unwashed merchandise in its original packaging up to 14 days after purchase with receipt or online order confirmation. Exchanges are available on unused, unwashed merchandise in its original packaging up to 30 days after purchase with receipt or online order confirmation. Sale and clearance items are final sale. We do not keep in store purchases on file, please keep your receipt. A RECEIPT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS. Used, soiled, washed, products of a personal nature or unpackaged products will not be accepted for exchanges or returns. Special orders will not be eligible for return or refund. For health & safety concerns the following products cannot be returned: car seats, mattresses, maternity and nursing wear, personal care products, necklaces, bracelets, teething items and pacifiers and feeding utensils and dishes including bottles. Payments will be refunded using the original method of payment. All credit card transactions will be returned to a credit card, debit transactions may be returned in cash. All other returns will be processed by in store credit. What if there’s a product defect?In the unlikely event your product has a defect, this will generally be handled directly by the manufacturer. Most manufacturers are more than happy to replace snaps and perform repairs on their products. If you require assistance with handling a defect in your order, please contact us for further instructions. The customer is responsible for shipping the defective product to the manufacturer. We do not keep in store purchases on file, please keep your receipt. A RECEIPT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS. Can I combine discount codes?No. Only one discount code is applicable per transaction.
